Waldegg, Appenzell, CH

We had lunch here on a lazy Sunday afternoon, before driving to Italy.

My favorite highlights: We had a walk around the restaurant (The Swiss have hiking paths everywhere!), saw some herbs from my now-favorite mint, Ricola, saw an Alpine yodel in real life, enjoyed a great spätzle (yummy but weird egg pasta with cheese), and took home a giant biber (gingerbread with hazelnut filling) from their bakery. My tummy was over the moon. So much Swiss-ness in one afternoon.

😆 Sorry for the subheadline – apparently, I’m still 12. To keep my blog posts short, I want to ask myself 2 quick questions:

Having been here, what would I tell teenage Jomie?

You will one day date a cute, hot, geeky  Swiss man. And he will taste as yummy as all the fabled Swiss chocolates. And I’m not talking about Lindt – he’s a Laederach. And since you don’t know what that is yet, oh boy. You’re in for a treat.

What would I tell my future self?
