Wanna know how I managed to stay in Europe for 3 months in 2019, without bankrupting myself? I spent a lot of time in Switzerland, for example, where everything seems to be made of gold (or priced that way 😄).Â
We stayed at campgrounds. We basically had a 3-month camping tour around the continent. Campgrounds are fun, affordable, with wifi and utilities, plus they’re usually located out in nature… near a river, mountain, or lake. Beautiful.Â
Campgrounds in Switzerland were particularly amazing. They were always near a lake or a river, so amazing sunrises and sunsets were a daily norm.
I already travel with everything I need, all in a bag. So it was just a matter of unpacking it into a huge tent… or when we felt like splurging, a cabin at the camp.
The biggest thing I’ve learned so far, and much more so now in these times, is that I actually don’t need a lot everyday. If you strip it down, and get to the point with what will actually make you happy, it’s not a lot. We all need love, safety, and purpose. And that brings us happiness.
Everything is just extra.
