Costa Brava, Spain

We were here for all of 15 minutes. We were fleeing Barcelona during the political protests that locked down the city. The Catalans were revolting again, and we decided to avoid highways, and take the coastal road up to France.

cliffside shortcut

It seems funny now that all our problems then, was being a foreigner caught in the midst of a political protest. It was nothing trivial at all – but it seems so far away compared to what’s happening now as I write this in 2020.

I won’t lie – it isn’t easy. My core value is freedom, and right now, my freedom of movement is highly restricted. I consider myself lucky to be where I am right now, and to have the options I have, no matter how limited I think they are. But a virus knows no privilege, and neither does a lockdown.
